Anheuser-Busch InBev in Talks to Acquire BeatBox for $700M
Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD), the global beer giant behind brands like Budweiser and Stella Artois, is negotiating a potential $700 million acquisition of BeatBox, a vibrant player in the ready-to-drink alcohol market. The Austin-based company, known for its fruity punch and tea beverages packaged in colorful Tetra-Pak boxes, has cultivated a loyal following among younger consumers through strategic music festival partnerships and social media engagement.
BeatBox’s affordability—priced at $4 to $5 per box—and high alcohol content (8%-11%) have fueled its rise, with projected 2024 revenue of $175 million. The deal WOULD bolster AB InBev’s ready-to-drink portfolio, complementing recent acquisitions like BuzzBallz and existing brands such as Cutwater cocktails. The move underscores the industry’s pivot toward convenience-driven products that resonate with Gen Z and millennial drinkers.
